Event Description:Kabbalat Shabbat with The Havurah on the Hill at Vilna Shul.
June 20, 2008 – 7:00 pm
Following a brief service, our speaker, April Baskin, will continue what has become a Vilna Shul tradition of exploring diverse Jewish communities. April is a Jewish woman of Color from California and a recent Tufts graduate. In a presentation titled “I’m Different Wherever I Go,” she will discuss the experiences and identities of Jewish young adults of Color in America. By presenting the dynamics of this rarely-recognized part of our community, April explores ways to ensure all Jews are welcomed and accepted in American Judaism. This month’s event is presented in conjunction with Tekiah: A Jewish Call to Action.
