Event Description:Kabbalat Shabbat with The Havurah on the Hill at Vilna Shul.
July 18, 2008 – 7:00 pm
Following a brief service, we will hear from our speaker, Harvey D. Lowell, Ph. D., CEO of Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston. He has written widely on programs and services affecting children in need and has worked on many state and national policy initiatives. During his tenure as CEO caseload has tripled. He has been instrumental in establishing Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters in Boston’s sister city in the Ukraine; and has helped to revitalize the JBBBS program in Haifa. Harvey will share his unique perspective on the social service needs of people in the Boston area, in particular as they relate to the children in our community.
